Been toying with making my car an AOM GS, and my friend told me maybe just sell it and buy a AOM Z.... doesnt have to be AOM, I just really like the color of my car, so it prob would be...
Anyway, the WB kit and paint and rims etc would be 8-10 gs, and obviously won't make my car worth but maybe 10 cents more, but it'd prob sell in 37 minutes with said look enhancements.
What would you guys do? I just got the car tuned and its making good power now, just not sure if I "have to have" a Z or can make do with the GS. I LOVE the looks of the widebody, and don't know what would make more sense... I probably won't do anything for at least 6 months, but I just wanted some logical decisions from people that may have done the same thing either way... sell and rebuy or mod more...
this subject has been beat to death, but the answer is completely what YOU want out of the car.
I wanted the dry sump LS7, aluminum frame, and bigger brakes. I also did not want the headache of the all the bodywork, and did not care about loosing the removable roof.

Why do you ask us our opinions? This confuses me. I have owned a lot of C5's and C6's and I have NEVER asked any of your opinions on what I should buy? No offence, but I am not buying my cars for any of you, I am buying it for me, so I don't care one bit what any member of this forum or any forum thinks, why do you?

Do you see his screen name?
Seems like it may answer some of your questions
Oh, and for once, I agree with a Canadian

Your Car;
Year & Model
2008 Corvette
Color
Atomic Orange
Mods cam, exhaust, nitrous
I say do what you want. You've already totally blown the resale value of your car with the cam, tune, and nitros. You're doing this for yourself at this point. Might as well do the wide body too. You would take a bath trying to sell or trade in your '08. Buying a GS will get you nothing power wise, you already had a LS3. Yours is another case of someone that should have purchased a Z06 to begin with.
If you put your '08 back to stock, and traded it in on a Z06, you would be happier in the long run.
It's a valid question. Do you have people tell you what to buy?
I for one, occasionally seek input before making a buying decision, but not usually. However, I see value in seeking the experiences of others when the resulting decision relates heavily to questions, and their outcomes, which are nebulous, such as the case in question. Seems perfectly suited to the opinion of others???
What's wrong with someone asking for opinions/options from people that have 'been there done that'? Someone here may have some constructive input that he had not thought about.

As stated you have to ask yourself what you can't live without. If you must have the targa top then a Z is out of the question. If you must have atomic orange then a new GS is out. If you're happy with your existing platform then do the widebody and enjoy. I modded my car without any thought to resale value. I want to enjoy it my way while it's mine. When it's time to part with it then someone else can deal with it. My $.02

Bottom line he asked if he should make his car a GS or buy a Z06. For me, that question is not perfectly suited to the opinion of others. It comes down to, are you a follower or a leader? Nobody tells me what to do with my money.
