Driver’s seat possessed!
If you continue to have this problem give disconnecting the battery a try.

The seat is pretty easy to pull, only 4 nuts (2 front, 2 rear). The connector for the main harness is a little interesting, you rotate the purple lock handle 180 degrees and then you can just pull the connector apart. The seat heater connectors have plastic pins that hold the connectors together, just pull them out and take the connector apart like most normal connectors.
A helpful tip is using a long extension on your ratchet for the back seat mounting nuts. I've got a 3 footer that I had used for some tranny work on my Z28, it worked great.
One last thing, the seat is heavy!
