Default Lifting a C6

I purcahsed new tires this weekend at a local tire store. Before they put the car up on the lift they popped the trunk latch, hood, roof and left both doors ajar. Then they put the car in the air. The mechanic said it was the safer thing to do since the body may flex as it is lifted possibly stressing the body panels.

I'm glad they were being so careful but is this overkill or really necessary?

I totally thought this was going to be a thread about a C6 skyjacker kit.

No.....that ended with the C4's. Old practice that's hard for some mechanics to give up. I'm guessing they just don't understand the newer Vette frames.

On the older cars, up through C4s, this wasn't a bad idea. From the C5s onward not necessary.
