Default Key Fob Problem

I have an 05 vert. and am having problems with my fobs. The lock/unlock and trunk release will work fine, but I get the no fobs detected when I try to start. It does not matter where the fobs are as they will only work when in the glove box slot. I tried two new energizer batteries but nothing. Any ideas ??? Car battery is two years old. I tried disconnecting the battery for a few mins. and that did not work. I also noticed that when I try to access the options on the display it said "not available". Why is that ??

Probably something on the receiving end... The Siemens RFID receiver may need to be replaced. Man would that be a bitch.

Had the same issue with my z06 and they ordered a new fob board for in the car. I think mainly cause they didnt know what else to do.

If the DIC says "not available", it means that the car is not recognizing the fob as #1 or #2...programming options are not available on 3 and 4. Just for kicks, I would try re-programming the fobs...it will take 30 minutes and it might fix the problem...check the FAQ section for complete fob programming instructions. We know that your glovebox slot is working correctly, so you can just go straight to the long procedure and do that one.

If both FOBs work in the glove box that tells me they are programmed correctly. It sounds like your Remote Control Door Lock Receiver might need to be replaced. There was also a recall on '08s that sounds like your problem.

That would sound like it makes sense because they won't unlock when you approach the car you have to press the button for them to open. I will try the reprogram before I take it in. Thanks for the help.
