Default Would you get this repaired?

Here is a couple of pics of some parking lot damage I recieved. I buffed most of the scuff off, but the crack remains. Can't see it in a side view of the car , but if I get real close and look under the wheel lip the crack is evident. Body shop wants $500 to repair whick will require clearing the whole rear quarter. He says I will never notice the repair.
What do you guys think?

It depends how long you plan to keep the car. If you're going to keep it till the wheels fall off, get it professionally repaired. If your going to trade it in a year or two just live with it. I would also first try making it look better by working some thinned touch-up paint into the crack and then buffing it. If you know anyone in the the used car business, ask them if they know of any professional touch-up people they use.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do.

I'd say the more experienced will comment but if it were me, I might get it done simply because it could spread. Just twisting and flexing and vibration could do it. I'll accede to wiser ones tho on this...

I'm with Bill. Not only would I be concerned about it spreading, I also know that once I let one small thing go I'm much more prone to letting other small things go. Before I know it, I have a car that's no longer pristine and that wouldn't sit well with me. Pay the $$$, get 'er back to like new, and move on.

I would get it priced to repair then make a decision. I know if it was mine, every time I looked at the car I would "see it"

You did an excellent job of addressing the cosmetics - -but unless you take the car to shows, etc- I'm not sure I'd bother with it yet.

If it expands, address it - IMO

As well, living in the Great White North, you can get it done during your down time, October to April Fortunately living in San Diego I do not have that problem.

FYI - I am originally from Nova Scotia now living in So Cal..... if you ever find yourself in San Diego PM me and I will take you for a spin.

You could put some heritage stripes over it.

I would get it repaired simply because I know it is there and I would always be worried about it spreading and checking it everyday.

To make you feel better, I'll mention that we've had three red cars repaired and repainted in the repair panel.

We kept them, respectively; 8 years, 3 years, 2 years.
In each case you could not spot the repainted area when it was "new" and you still couldn't spot it when we sold the car. I had to tell the next purchaser or they probably would never have known.

My thoughts, even before I read down this far. You will be much happier in the long run. To think, you could have wasted the $500 on booze and broads.

I decided if my fenders ever get wacked? I'd consider going with the wide body fenders..

I'd live with the scratch ...for a bit...possibly try some touch up paint..and one last question..

Did you hit the fenders with a high speed polisher? Really does wonders for the paint...

of course I can't see the damage in your photos..

your cars stunning in the photo so good luck in whatever you decide..

Probably as others mentioned it might spread, otherwise I would have said leave it.
