Well, folks....this is good bye --- and new gray beauty has my heart for now...
As we prepare to retire, we are going to try the 5th wheel route to see the US and Canada (and thanks for all of you who at least tried to talk me out of this)..........We decided that right now with the huge rebates on 2010's and that our 2008 Corvette was never going to be worth more than it is right now......we actually traded straight across for this:
It still fits in the garage but I think the wheelbase alone is as long as the Corvette was:
The metalflake is just perfect (and yes, its already had its first coat of Klasse) and is very similar to Cyber Grey, which I've loved since it came out:
To all of you who have shared my passion for Corvettes over the last five years --- I can't just say thank you....that simply would not suffice.
You all have been my friends, held me accountable when I needed it, we have exchanged opinions, information, pictures, compliments and "not for me's".
The years that I have owned our Corvettes have created memories that I will always cherish......so "thank you" it will have to be for now.
I am not ruling out a C7 at some point if retirement funds allow and I will check in here now and then just to see how things are going...
Man! I read this to my wife and could not get through this ...this is NOT easy!

Your vehicle needs to fit your life and your needs as well as your desires. Wish you the best in your travels and stay safe out there. BTW great color choice even if its not on a vette.

As we all should know, any vehicle is only as important as your needs dictate. A Corvette is an asset and as such is to be used as one when need be.
Enjoy your travels and feel free to lurk/converse anytime!

Go drive one and you will be a goner.......unbelievably smooth and quiet -- like riding in a limosine....and I always loved Cyber Grey --- just did not think that I would ever have this many square feet of something that similar!
And to all of you above --- thanks for the good wishes (and for your understanding!!!).......this was NOT an easy decision -- seeing that beautiful VR in the lot as we drove away -- still tugs at my heart....

Is that a 2010 or 2011? I've been looking at them to replace my old F-250 but thought I'd wait to see what the new engine combinations are going to be for 2011.

thanks! Ford is suppose to introduce some new packages in 2011 (like the raptor engine in a base 4x4, etc.) if you believe the rags. Great looking truck! Enjoy that retirement and drop by the CF once in a while and tell us how much fun your having!

UGH...trading in a red corvette for a big grey truck, to see the USA, no less.
50 years ago, two guys saw the USA in a Corvette along Route 66...
Good luck on your retirement, hope you can find your way back in a Corvette ...it doesn't have to be a new C7, just come back from from the dark side. You even switched teams to the blue oval, ugh!
