Power Steering Problem 2005
So I am driving to work today and out of no where my steering wheel tightened up, and it was very hard to steer the car. As I slowed down to pull over it hardened up even more. I turned the car on and off with no help. I checked the fluids and they were okay. Upon restarting the car the wheel was tight and I hit the gas to hear if there were any strange noises, while hitting the petal I noticed the steering wheel got looser.???? I decided to drive the car home and while I was accelerating it was easier. So what is it> Hopefully just a belt tightening, any experience with this problem Stock 2005 Vert Vette Stock except for some cosmetics.

No experience but it certainly sounds like a fluid or pump issue. The pumps do go out.......not common but they do. Less likely is the rack.

When my PS pump went it was not as radical as what you describe. it was intermittent for a while and finally no power assist like you feel
