Has anyone tried one of the add on HUD units? My car doesnt have the HUD and I have seen complete kits for about 399.00. Has anyone tried to do this install yourself? Can you do it without removing the front windshield?
I was reading some of the other links on this topic, even downloaded the step by step direstions. This is not for the faint of heart...........I would like to do it, but really dont want to tear apart my car right now. I think if I decide to tackle this project in the future i will swap out the dash panel for either carbon or painted panels. Since the entire dash gets torn down I might as well take advantage of the opportunity.

Thanks for the info,

There are many members in Va, might find one or more willing and able to help when the time comes. Just sayin'.
I have it (HUD) but forget it's there. I always seem to look at the gauges. Yes, I realize it's right in front of me but I seriously do NOT see it most of the time!
It is a fantastic addition. I did mine a couple of weeks after getting my first Vette (2008 c6). It is safer, since you don't have to look down all the time. Plus, you just have to love the technology toys.
Like to install mine, have the kit. I would just like to have help as I leave for Iraq on Friday and I am outta time. In Asheville NC
Update- Took the car and had the HUD installed By Dave at Mad Vette near Nashville TN. He did an excellent job and it works great.
Dave has done several of these and is a professional at taking apart the dash and reinstalling it perfectly, NO CUTTING.
Thanks Dave

thanks for the info, I have all the links and guides printed out, I did contact the corvette center, the folks on this forum say its 2-3 hour job for a novice, the corvette center told me it takes 8 HOURS, 8 hours labor? I'm studying the stuff and will probably attempt it myself, thanks for the info again.
