C6 Ash tray

C6 Ash tray
Anyone else having trouble with the door on their ash tray? I have a c6 Z06 and I noticed that the ash tray sticks. Is there a recall or tsb? anyone have a fix? It seems like it is catching on the HVAC controls. I know it seems to work when I take the console cover out and actuate it. Any help?

Don't recall seeing your scenario before. The usual ash tray lid problem is failing to stay closed, pops open when the car goes over a bump. It probably won't help you but here's a thread that shows how it works and how to fix the other problem. Maybe it will give you some ideas for yours. Good luck.

Well I answered my own question. I just replaced the radio, but the tray stuck before the install. The fix was easy just had to push the radio up as far as it would go, the heat controls, then I adjusted the ash tray all the way down in the console to make space between the heat controls and the top of the ash tray. Problem solved
