I like the streamlined original body over the so-called factory wide-bodied modifications made to accommodate extra-wide tires and wheels, so super-wide body modifications to accommodate jumbo wide tires and wheels look even stranger to me. I also wouldn't want to drive a car that rides like a buckboard and hydroplanes at slow speeds just because it is equipped with jumbo wide, rubber band cross-section tires, but then again I'm an old fart. The important thing is that you like your mods.
you asked, too much flare for me. unless it goes road racing in which case, you may need the flared wells to accommodate wider tires. without that, to me also, it's too much dish on the rear wheel. as far as I can tell, however, everything seems to be done first rate, even down to the rear splash guards.
Sorry, not to my taste. Good news is it's your car and if you like it then that is all that really matters. For a point of reference, I pretty much don't like anything Chip Foose has ever done either.
I can appriciate your honesty regarding my mods, but wished you'd reconsider your bitterness about Chip. Last Saturday he spent 15 hrs. in 92 degree heat, signing autographs, taking photo shots, and doing sketches for fans who waited in line for several hrs. He was the most friendliest, courteous, and patient celeberties I've every met. He did this as a fund raiser and took in $105,000 for the Progeria Reaseach Foundation. So I'd hope you'd think he's done a few good things.

No worries, I don't have any bitterness about Mr. Foose at all. I have heard nothing but good things about him as a person. It really is just his design work that doesn't agree with me, nothing about him the individual. I apologize if my post made you believe anything to the contrary. When I said that I don't care much for anything that he has done I simply mean within the body of his design work.

I agree. The only changes it needs are to get rid of the flared "Corvette Summer" fenders and go to a stock sized wheel and the car would look great.
the body kit work looks great. i think that the color is what i can't seem to fit with the "look". also, i'm not a fan of DD (deep dish) wheels. maybe that's what the issue is - FOR ME. well at least your car is "unique" and that makes it special.
Yo! I love your ride and have contemplated such a move myself on my newly acquired 2011 Z06. Is this the extreme wide body kit made/sold in/from Florida? Correct me if I'm in error: using a non GS coupe as a reference, then, my 2011 Z06 is 1.5" wider than that coupe, and your wide body kit would be 1.5" wider than my Z06? Yes, no, or maybe?
I had too many questions about this process that the sales guy had no interest in answering. Did you elect to purchase wider rims and tires, or did you already have them? Did you use spacers to bring the outside edge of your tires closer to the quarter panels' edge? I thought the whole kit came with extreme side rails as well? I remain conflicted about the side vent change to the double vent style: I view it as unique, but can't discern if it is unique bad, or unique good. I also worry that ultimately such drastic variance would or could eliminate potential purest type Z06 buyers. I know, it's my car, do what I want, drive it, use it, and don't worry about resale. I can't help but think about such things, and a huge project like this one ($7,500 to $10K), and maybe more with wider rims and tires, deserves some consideration of pros and cons.
Any additional thoughts or ideas you can provide - that anyone can provide, would be greatly appreciated! I enjoyed all the previous posts thus far. Thank you all, Robert
