Just sold my C5Z, cammed, LG LTs, stock TI and picked up a bone stock C6 and it is a bit quiet for me. Looking for some thing a little calmer than the z but want to know I'm driving a muscle car. I like the look and price of both the Magnaflow and the Flowmaster. I know that the Magnaflow is stainless and the Flowmaster is not.
Is the Magnaflow worth double the money of the Flowmaster?
I haven't see either in person but are the tips on the Flowmaster cheap looking?
I can't tell too much from the pics I've seen. I'm looking for a nice looking, inexpensive quad tip exhaust, nothing loud like bullets etc.
Just had a Magnapack (mildly aggressive full catback system including X-Pipe) put on my '05 M6 Z51. LOVE IT! Two large tips rather than Four (which I like but all may not). No sound clips but here are some pics getting it installed at Carlisle a month ago....Good Luck! (dont mind the Borla t-shirt the guy is wearing.... they install different brands)

Thanks for the input.
I would stay away from Flowmaster, they are not stainless and I really dont like the sound either. I would suggest maybe the B&B Fusions, quieter while cruising and very throaty when you get on it.
My mach 1 had magnaflow and it was an excellent exhaust and sounded great. I've got the SLP Loudmouth 2 on my C6 and have been very happy with both the sound and the price.
Yes. Yes it is. Unless you own a mustang, then you get flowmasters and they rot out in a few years and you replace them, lol. I owned a mustang ( and hence flowmasters) before. Fail. Just get Magnaflow. They are nicer, sound better, and give more horsepower. My friend had a Corsca on his LS2 GTO. Sounded great until he cammed and ran LT's. Then it was just obnoxious. He switched to Magnaflow and it was perfect.
I suggest zo6 mufflers (modded mufflers or even the mufflers without the mod done to them). Quiet or loud with a push of a button...and the sound is pretty unique. Plus it's cheap, you can find a used set for 350 on here? I did the whole manifolds to mufflers conversion on my c6 with zo6 parts and spent less than 1k including installation...i think a magnaflow catback costs more than that (1000-1100?).
Everyone's always concerned with sound and looks. Another thing to consider is the efficiency; whether the system performs well with high airflow exhaust evacuation. IMO that is the important thing.
I have the Magnaflow cat back with X pipe on my '06 6 manual.. Absolutely no drone at all. Nice fit and finish and the tips polish up to a high shine. The sound is a more refined sound, not kid muscle car or the Mustang like sound of a Borla or Flowmaster. Plenty loud enough unless you must have attention getting noise.....I got mine used for a pittance. Heck, all the pieces had been individually polished & wrapped for me and the guy tossed in a brand new K&N set up to seal the deal. I say go for the Magnaflow with quad 4" tips, you will not regret it...
