Default 2008 convertible

I had a dealer check out a 2008 corvette convertible in another state for me I am interested in buying I have not seen the car yet he told me the convertible top made a rub mrk on the paint.Has anyone heard of this? What would cause this? Since I haven't seen the car yet I can't imagine it not coming out with wax?

I can't imagine where the top could contact the paint to wear on it.

with the advent of digital cameras and putting/attaching pics in an email, ask the dealer to take a closeup, and one a little farther away to give context as to where this paint rubbing is taking place. then, have him put it in an email and send it to you. you can post it up into photobucket possibly, and then copy paste it into here on your thread.

He probably meant that the convertible top has rub marks which is normal, but a few pictures would be nice.

maybe post up the location of the car (dealership) and ask someone to make a stop for you to 'check it out' ?

C5s were bad about the top rubbing right behind the black strip of the hatch. My guess is this is what he is talking about.
To fix - top has to be adjusted to bring it in line with the black strip. The hatch can be cleaned up and fixed with touch up paint and a little wet sanding/polishing.

I have a slight rub mark the size of a pencil eraser near the black strip on the drivers side. Looks like the seam of top bulges just enough to make contact with the paint. You have to look close to see the mark and will probably polish out. Not sure I want the hassle of GM trying to adjust my top or the clam shell.
