The tiny Radar Projector™ comes with everything you need right out of the box. It plugs into your car at the OBD-II port under the steering column with the included cable. It automatically controls the power to your Valentine 1™, using the telephone cord included with your Valentine 1™, by sensing when you turn your engine on and off without the need for tapping fuses, wires or using the lighter outlet. With its incredible efficiency and intelligence it's designed to be left plugged in to your car at all times. We have a solution for users that have something already plugged into the OBD-II port. There is an additional proprietary splitter that allows two devices to be plugged into the OBD-II port at the same time, which is available at the time of purchase. That way you can use both devices simultaneously. The

My V1 is around 10 yrs old...do the new ones tell you how far away the radar source is??
the HUD display shows a distance is the lower left when V1 picks up radar..is that distance to source?
What do the [ x ] K mean...that two bands (x first or closest plus K firther away)?
Thanks,
kevin

Thanks for the questions.
The Radar Projector works with all V1's
The distance bar going from right to left is the signal strength meter of the V1. The number is the bogey count ie: 3.0mi = 3 bogeys.
The bracket around the band letter is indicating the strongest radar band. So [X] means the X band radar source is the strongest radar band being received. If you have " X K [Ka] " showing the Ka band is indicated as the strongest signal.
If you go to www.dashtronix.com all operational features of the unit are explained.

Hi Keven,
Thasnks for the questions.

The bracket around the band letter is indicating the strongest radar band. So [X] means the X band radar source is the strongest radar band being received. If you have " X K [Ka] " showing the Ka band is indicated as the strongest signal.

The Radar Projector™ uses the HUD's navigation functionality to project the Valentine 1™ display. We use the available distance indicator and meter to show the bogey count and signal strength of the radar signal.
When you have it operating in the car it doesn't take very long to get used to the display format of the RP and it is easy to determine the strongest radar band, direction, signal strength and bogey count.

This is fantastic! Very nice work. You had me sold until I saw the price unfortunately. If you have any "scratch & dent" units for sale around $100, I'll take one!
Very nice work!
