Default Introducing the DashTronix Radar Projector™: Display your Valentine 1™ on your HUD!

announces a completely unique and revolutionary new product unlike anything yet seen for the sixth generation Corvette! Introducing the novel Radar Projector™. Now, in HUD equipped vehicles, you can have your Valentine 1™ radar detector information displayed on your HUD!

The tiny Radar Projector™ comes with everything you need right out of the box. It plugs into your car at the OBD-II port under the steering column with the included cable. It automatically controls the power to your Valentine 1™, using the telephone cord included with your Valentine 1™, by sensing when you turn your engine on and off without the need for tapping fuses, wires or using the lighter outlet. With its incredible efficiency and intelligence it's designed to be left plugged in to your car at all times. We have a solution for users that have something already plugged into the OBD-II port. There is an additional proprietary splitter that allows two devices to be plugged into the OBD-II port at the same time, which is available at the time of purchase. That way you can use both devices simultaneously. The Radar Projector™ is truly 100% plug-and-play! The Radar Projector™ is compatible with all model years of the C6 Corvette, 2005-2011.

The install instructions are available on our website.
Here is the link - DashTronix Radar Projector installation instructions

All information from your Valentine 1™ is transferred to the HUD so you don't have to take your eyes off the road to have radar situational awareness. There is simply nothing else like the Radar Projector™ available! At $229.95, the Radar Projector™ is an amazing value!

For more information or to order your Radar Projector™, visit http://www.dashtronix.com. Units are in stock and ready to ship!

Accelerate your Corvette through the 21st century. Get the Radar Projector™ today! There's nothing else like it in the world.

My V1 is around 10 yrs old...do the new ones tell you how far away the radar source is??
the HUD display shows a distance is the lower left when V1 picks up radar..is that distance to source?
What do the [ x ] K mean...that two bands (x first or closest plus K firther away)?

Thanks,
kevin

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the questions.

The Radar Projector works with all V1's

The distance bar going from right to left is the signal strength meter of the V1. The number is the bogey count ie: 3.0mi = 3 bogeys.

The bracket around the band letter is indicating the strongest radar band. So [X] means the X band radar source is the strongest radar band being received. If you have " X K [Ka] " showing the Ka band is indicated as the strongest signal.

If you go to www.dashtronix.com all operational features of the unit are explained.

Any chance that something like this is coming out for the Escort detectors?

I dig it, wish radar detectors were legal in Virginia.

I agree. The display is ambiguous. 3.0mi represents 3 miles IMO. If the display was changed (corrected) I would consider getting one.

Can you still run a remote mute button by using a line splitter?

Like the original iPod add-ons for the radio this system "hacks" (or mimics) another system to get the desired functionality.

The Radar Projector™ uses the HUD's navigation functionality to project the Valentine 1™ display. We use the available distance indicator and meter to show the bogey count and signal strength of the radar signal.

When you have it operating in the car it doesn't take very long to get used to the display format of the RP and it is easy to determine the strongest radar band, direction, signal strength and bogey count.

We have a splitter that will be available for purchase that accomplishes interfacing a remote mute button into the RP and V1 system.

A standard splitter will not work.

Is there any way to piggyback this with a Window Valet?

No, I don't own either (or even Vette yet), but I think it's a good question.

This is fantastic! Very nice work. You had me sold until I saw the price unfortunately. If you have any "scratch & dent" units for sale around $100, I'll take one!

Very nice work!

very awesome concept! i don't have the valentine, so 200 bucks plus the detector is pretty steep. i think i'll wait a generation for the kinks to get ironed out and the price to come down.
