When I make tight turns in my '08 C6, it feels like one wheel is turning slower than the other, causing the front end to bind. It only happens when the turn is so sharp that the steering wheel is just about locked to the limit.
Hard to explain. It reminds me of a full time 4WD vehicle that has front hubs locked, turning on dry pavemant--I get the same feel in the front end of the C6. Odd since the front wheels turn independently of each other.
Sounds like a trip to the alignment shop needed. They should check the tires too. On an older Corvette I was noticing odd steering feel at very low speeds. Replacement tires fixed it with no other changes.
Also, I wonder if this could actually be caused by the differential. Even when it doesnt make the popping noises, the posi clutches can make the car move side to side a bit when turning if the lube isnt working properly.

Dealer checked my allignment as a courtesy about 2 months ago when I got a LOF. Service rep said no need for an allignment, and he gave me the printout.
Car only has 4600 miles on it, so tires are like new.
I thought all Vettes acted this way due to the wide front tires??
My car does this, and it is freshly aligned with brand new tires. Doesn't seem to negatively impact handling or steering at speed, just tends to "plow" straight when the steering wheel is pretty much at full lock one way or the other.
My driveway turn into my garage requires a turn to full lock, and I've noticed the same thing on my brand new 2011 GS. Only going forwards though. My garage floor is painted and pretty slick from detailer overspray, and by the sound I can tell the tires are definitely getting tweaked a bit on those tight turns like that.
