It's a bit too hard to compare a new Michelin to an old Goodyear, but my impression is they are at least as good as the Goodyears. They "sing" a little which I like. They are what I call relatively quiet.
I'm on my second set of PS2 ZPs from the original Supercars.
Once you've used half the tire life and beyond, the Michelin tires are noticeably quieter, especially on concrete roads. With new tires, I'd bet the Michelins are slightly more quiet than the Goodyears but you would never be able to tell the difference.
I'm in Houston and have a couple thousand miles on my new set of PS2 ZPs. If you would like to hear how they sound (on a stock 07 A6 Z51) send me a PM. That way you could drive the cars back to back with the different tires on the same road and hear for yourself.

How many miles did you get out of you first set of Michelins?
I just had my michelin AS run flats installed today, there is a difference in noise and feel. There is another thread here with a number of comments about the Michelins, all positive. My complaint w/ the GY's from day 1 was the noise....by installing sound deadening it improved slightly, but the Michelins are an improvement and they seem a bit "softer" in feel.
Replaced the Supercars with the Michelin PS2 ZPs about a month ago. No "singing" and SIGNIFICANTLY quieter than the GY's. IMHO, the Michelins are superior to the GY's in every respect.
Has anyone got experience with Michelin Run flats are they quiet or quieter than the Goodyear?
I replaced my G.Y. Supercars @ 16k miles with Michelin PS2 ZP's (not A/S). I currently have 17k miles on the ZP's and they should take me into the mid 20k's. Mileage will vary depending on driving habits. I drive spirited around the twisties, but do not track the car.
Here is a quick comparison between the G.Y. Supercars and Michelin PS2 ZP's both with 16k & 17k miles respectively.
The Michelin PS2's are a much better tire in all categories, especially when comparing both tires with the same mileage (16k - 17k miles).
Better handling in both wet and dry
Smoother ride
Much less road grain noise, no singing
Better tire wear
Much better steering feel than the G.Y. Supercars. The G.Y.'s felt numb which did not give me the confidence around turns as the Michelin's do.
I've put 150 miles on the AS.....took my wife out today, we both noticed how much quieter they were....now I can hear what my wife says, wait, maybe that is not good.
