Default Buyer help!

I'm ready to upgrade from my C4, but funds are limited. Only got a 20k loan. So I could get a pretty C5 Z06, or with the right dealer a C6 with mine as a trade in. Which would you get?

I'd go as new as you can afford, C6 if you can. I was looking for a 04 z o6, but the upgrades to the C6, and basically the same HP as the 04 Z, make this the only choice for me! Good luck!

Although, lots more C6's to choose from: 26,708 coupes built in 2005; only 5,683 Z06's built in 2004 (8,635 in 2003).

But 2005 has 1st-year-only issues; weak rear end, DBS, and column-lock come to mind. Things to look-out for: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...w-morning.html

Lots of folks are very happy with their 05. But if you have any plans to track the car, I'd go for an 03/04 Z.

For street-only use, given your budget I'd be more sensitive to price & condition & miles than whether it's a C5Z or 05 C6.

Either way, it's a big step-up from a C4. Enjoy!

C6 gets my vote! It will look newer longer and it is a much better car. A few quick and cheap mods and it will look like a 2010. (Wheels, Dash console)

The only c6 you're getting for 20 grand is a high mileage 05.I like c6's better then I ever like any c5, but a Z06 may be the way to go.You're only giving up looks,no removable roof, inferior interior and a few other things.
