Default Quiet tires?

Have had my 2009 Coupe for 1 1/2 years now. Only complaint is the noisey Goodyear tires. Only have 6,000 miles on the car but can't wait to get quieter tires. Which brand is the most quiet?

I just put Firestone Wideovals on and theyare much quieter with better traction.

But almost any tire is gonna be quiter than the runcraps.

We have a '09 Coupe with 5,000 miles and there is no noise at all. Have you had your alignment checked? I also keep 34psi in the tires.

We have a '02 that i put Michelin PS A/S ZP Plus tires on and they don't make a sound. I will put these on our '09 when the GY's wear out. Good luck!

Firestone wide ovals are great , I just ordered another set from tire rack ..781.00 total including shipping...granted I did not get runflats but at 781.00.. who cares they are still rated very high by the reviews I read (80+), I felt I did not need run flats anyway, If I get a flat I have AAA , just my .02

For extremely quiet tires, try Toyo Proxes T1r. Great looking, ultra-high performance street tires designed exclusively for high-end sport sedans and coupes with good grip and a low price.

Same here. Put them on Monday...much quieter and much softer ride....just fine with me.
Had a 4 wheel alignment yesterday....factory set rears were toed out so gas mileage should be even better and cornering better now.

Just put a set of Michelin Pilot Sport ZPs on mine. Big improvement in noise and ride quality and also come with a 45K tread warranty. Cheaper than the Goodyears too. My front Goodyears were down to the belts at 26K of fairly easy driving.

I bought Firestone Wideoval runflats at 20K and they were noticably quieter than the original GY's. However, the FS are getting noisier now that I have put about 13K on them. Not sayin there arent better tires than the Goodyears but the comparison needs to be at the same miles to be meaningful.

Yes, most tires get noisier with miles. We had a set on a Toyota Camry, expensive but I can't remember the brand, that became so noisy I thought a wheel bearing was going out. That was with at least 50%tread remaining.

Default Hankooks

I just put Hankooks on last Friday. What a difference. Like driving a different car. Smooth and quiet. My only problem now is that 85 MPH comes a real quick. With Goodyears the noise told you how fast you are going. I have been driving over 36 years and have never had a flat tire while driving a car, two in the big rig, but never in a car so I went without the runflats. I am very glad I did. By the way I run 32 psi and on Monday it was 98 in Santa Rosa and the pressure went to 37 psi and stayed there. They rode really smooth even at that pressure. I am going to Oregon this weekend and will put over a 1000 miles and I will check my mpg compared to GY. Went up about 4 months ago and avg 29.5 mpg at 75 mph. Last weekend 90% freeway I avg. 28.5. I carry a can of flat repair and will add a pump and plug kit and don't ever plan on going back to RF. by the way I had 28, 000 on the GY. Right front a little more worn than left but not much. Still had about 4/32nds left but wanted to prepare for rainy season here in N. CA.. Yes I do drive in the rain all the time, no problem car handles great in the rain.

As has already been said. I put 3 sets of Michelin Pilots on my C5 and when the C6 tires need replacing there is no need for me to do any shopping..the little fat white tire guy is getting my business again.

my 2008 has 6600 miles and I'm ready for a tire with less noise. I don't know if I should go for the Michelin PS2 Sport or the run-flats which are a few hundred more. Any help is appreciated

Your sound system must be set somewhere above 20

Pretty much any non-run flat tire is going to be much quieter. Some of the better run-flats are the Micheliens and the Bridgstones are getting good reviews too.

The run-craps were just as bad on the C5, and no better on the C6.

A set of Flinstone wheels is probably quieter than a worn set of Goodyears. It is hard to go wrong with Michelin though.

Since you asked....Nope, never cared for any loud crap especially rap crap which should have Died 10 years ago. Give me Stevie Nicks or Elvis and i am happy. Sometimes i don't even have it on because i like the 436 HP Stereo! The GY's are quiet, so far.
