Default Pitfalls?

Just starting to look at C6's, sold my bike, next my C3. What are the issues with each year, are there sticky's? I'm tending to lean towards an '07 and newer. I may wait a year or two and pick up a GS. I'm really confused and need some guidance.

I know you see this over and over, but use the search function, there are very many recent threads on this exact subject.

You'll see lots of good advice on CF to get an 08 or newer to get the LS3 engine and a number of smaller enhancements.

If you can swing it get a 2008 LS3 or newer. You will not be sorry.

I just got my 07 Coupe at the end of August after over 3 months of research and learning a lot right here on the CF. It was exactly what I wanted and I paid much less than "market" price.
1st - Carfax is only good for checking owner history. I did pay the $45 and ran 3 reports, which I found helpful. A good investment on a $30k purchase in my opinion.
2nd - it sounds like you're beyond the 05-07 pricing if you're considering waiting on a GS, used or not. So, if I were you, just get a Z06! I mean what the hell! Many spends thousands after the fact on wide body kits, wheels, engine upgrades, etc. when they could have spent much less just buying a Z in the first place! Doesn't make sense to me. Z's are the king of the road! Wish I had one, but I sure as hell aren't going to spend $10k to try to make my Coupe one!
Last, when you have decided on the model, option package, color, year, etc., make sure you know where the market is so you don't over pay. As mentioned, the market is flooded with Z06's right now and prices are down. Do your research and know where you want to be when you find your car. While I was looking, cars on the lot at $38000, were being discounted $5000 before I even sat down to talk price. So, know right where you need to be and you'll get a better deal. I mean, who wants to overpay?
Good Luck, and by all means keep us posted. BTW - a pic post is the forum rule after you buy. NOT posting pics gets you kicked off the CF(not really....I don't think...).

You should be fine. Many more potential issues with '05's, especially MN6, but after that less so.

Take your time, read lots of threads like this one, and be choosy. Figure out what you want and then go find it. You will likely be able to get it more reasonably than you might think. Don't be afraid to fly somewhere to get a great deal.

08 or later to get the 430/436 HP LS3. 05 has weak rear. You won't be sorry no matter what though. Good Luck.
