Right. $500 to me sounded a bit excessive. I am also wondeirng if anyone knows where I can buy NEW OEM spark plugs and wires other than the stealership.
There are venders here that supply you with the parts. Unless you are having a problem, I doubt you'll see any long term benefits to changing out the plugs and wires.
Book time for plugs is 1.6 @ $115 = $184 add .5 to do the wires along with the plugs + 57.50 = $241.50
Plugs 8 X 10 = 80.00
Wires 145.28

So I'm close. I guess you think the tech should work for free ........
Call or send an E-mail. I think they are pretty much an online version of a dealerhip parts dept so they can get anything your local dealer can except they sell at much lower prices.
A pair of cheap, light leather or decent cotton gloves might save some skin on your hands.
For about 10-15 bucks you can get weight lifting gloves (no fingers).
Also, try to thread the plugs in by hand to make sure there's no binding/cross threading.
thank you folks for the excellent advice got word back from Gene. The set is for WIRES only. that's about $150 on just wires. Now to find stock plugs... Does this sound about right for those that have already done urs as far as price is concerned?
You can purchase a "spark plug instalation tool" at most auto stores or use a rubber hose about 12" long that the porcelain part of the plug will fit in. Use this set up to start the plug in the hole. You cannot x-thread with this set up and seriously reduce banging the electrode on the head thus changing the plug gap.
