The midyear bug has finally gotten me to the point I am snooping around with the idea of selling the C6 (to ditch the payment and make it all happen).
Was wondering what some of you on the board thought the real (maybe non ebay) market was for our cars?
I've got a 2009 no-blemish 8000 mi 1LT jetstream blue coupe with two tops, Z51, NPP. Southern car, always garaged, nonsmoker etc. Not a big frills car but with everything I wanted when I bought it and nothing I didn't. Edmunds puts private party value at just under $38K.
I'd be satisfied if this was a reasonable price, I suppose, but would hate to see it go for less so soon. Has anyone seen some recent sales to substantiate these prices? Any insight much appreciated.
I'd sure like to go back to the '60's, despite the fact that the C6 does everything so well.

I don't normally talk prices. I think people here tend to undervalue - only you know what you are willing to take. Good luck.

A 2009 no-blemish 8000 mi 1LT jetstream blue coupe with two tops, Z51, NPP, always garaged, nonsmoker. Is a way better car than ANY '63-'67 Vette. A 63-'67 Vette may sell for more, but compared to what you own it's really a POS.
It's funny - I've had a lot of cars including 3 vettes and a bunch of classic chevys. I had a dream a few weeks ago that I sold my C6 and replaced it with a yellow 57 chevy. Except I was totally bummed I had done it because the car was nowhere near as much fun to drive as it was to look at. I woke up relieved that it was only a dream. Cause knowing me it coulda happened for real if I wasn't paying real close attention to myself!!
Anyway - thing long and hard about that, C6 is a really nice driving car.

Will do! Time has erased most of the negative memories I have from my '69 (which was in truth more of a rolling paint job than a properly restored car), leaving me with only the notion that if it had been a 4 speed, I'd still have it...
And yes, the C6 is a phenomenal car I have no doubt I would miss. But it seems at this juncture I can only have one. Hmmm... perhaps I could swing the C2 over the winter into the spring and then sell whichever one sits the most?
Go all the way and get a C1.... I also have a C6 but on a sunny day, I take the '59 (turns everyones head). Would I sell my C6? Sure for the right price, Would I sell my C1? NEVER, NEVER, EVER!!!
If you go back to a C1, consider doing a Newman C4 or C5 chassis under it. Makes for a great modern driving early classic. My buddy has a 61 vert done that way - originally was a LT1 motor and more recently moved to a LS based motor - 5.3L built up I think.

Had a 66 vert, restored to the tune of 75K+ Beautiful car and a TOTAL POS! The C2 guys would bash me for saying this but I ended up hating the car. Seemed like every time I made plans to enjoy it it wouldn't start. Always something falling off. It road like a truck, and with the sidepipes sounded like one too. My garage always smelled of gasoline. (carburator) It seemed like a quaint idea to own a mid year till I owned it. Think long and hard about selling your fun, reliable, wickedly fast C6. Every old car has it's flaws! Just say NO!! You'll remember this post for a long time if you get one!!

My first Vette was a red/red/white cove '59, my second was a '69 427, 4 speed coupe. When I see a cherry '59 I check it out too, love they way they look, but as far as driving one goes, my '08 is so much nicer than the '59 or '69, it's not even close. There are only so many hours in a year, I have a restored red/red/white '63 Nova SS vert too, that I drive once in a green moon. With my '08 I can take it anywhere, a short weekend cruise, or a trip to Reno, Tahoe, L.A., Vegas, anywhere. Old cars are great to look at, but no matter how nice they are, they don't compare to a nice C6.

These are wise words.. If you DRIVE the car.. You might want to reconsider selling it.. These are the good old days..
Compairing a C6 to a C1 isn't fair, that's why you need both. Yes long trips the C6 is the only way to go; fast, 30mpg, great ride. BUT: for day trips, car shows and a GREAT "seat of the pants" ride (the way a sports car should be )... there is nothing like a C1. FYI, My C1 is a matching #'s, low mileage, Black (2-top), 4-speed car that doesn't rattle, purrs like a kitten & doesn't smell like gas. It always starts and has never been a problem. Wow 38k for an 09 with low miles is a great deal for someone, good luck with the route you take, older great looking Vette for a new state of the art one that starts and goes when you hit the go pedal
