Does anyone know if the chime can be turned off when you push the DIC buttons on the right side. I have tried to find this in the manual with no luck. It is pretty loud and would like to turn it off or soften it.

No shut off.. It only has 2 settings loud and LOUDER!
Even after adjusting, the DIC chime on our 2006 was annoyingly loud.
On our 2009, it's barely audible.
I have no idea why...

The "Audio Pilot" (automatic volume control, sort of) in our 2006 and 2009 were both on. It seems like GM makes changes in these cars that they keep as secrets. Like the tail end of the 2010 MY had steering boost that was decreased when you went to Competition Mode for AH. They didn't tell anyone until it came as standard on all the 2011 MY.
