Default Please Help!

My GS windshield has tons of hard water spots. I have tried everything under the sun and nothing even comes close to working. Has anyone tried this?

Please, if anything that for sure will work let me know. Nothing like have a 60K car with spots on windshield!

You may wish to try Eastwood at 1-800-345-1178 ..

Light scratch and haze removal compound. Mixed with water and buffed with drill or low speed polisher. #40011 $46.99; but as you
said, it's a $60k car so $50 bucks or so 'ant too bad.

You've probably already tried this but I had good success on the windshield with a clay bar.

I've had good luck with vinegar/water 50/50 mix. Rub lightly and flush with clean water. Some have tried clay. If you use Zaino products, Z-PC Fusion, by hand will also help.

Others will chime in I'm sure. Good Luck

Steam clean it. No chemicals involved, just pure steam that flushs all contamination away. I do this on all of the windows in our house as well as my Vette and the glass sparkles like diamonds.

I have read on the Meguiar's forum you can use ultimate compound to polish the spots away...

I've used bathtub cleaner with success - just don't get it on the paint.

try a claybar - i had some hard water stains on the wife's accord, and the claybar took care of the issue. another thing to try is zaino Z12 - i've used it with success on hard water stains -

this sounds good, but I'd have to use an iron.

Use a good quality glass polish. You can hand rub it with an applicator pad and buff it out with a microfiber towel.
Zaino makes a good glass polish.

One tip; don't wash your Vette in direct sunlight, that will give you water spots every time.

I have... I got nailed in a Las Vegas Hotel Parking lot with the sprinklers... it dried in the 120 degree sun...I got home, wiped with Limeaway... they came right off... It is what I always did to the Waverunners, to get the spots off.. then wash, Clay Bar, and wax.. and YES wax the windshield... it helps.

This may sound a bit funky, but this is an old car modelers trick. Get a tube of plain, white toothpaste, like Crest (think about it, they're a very mild abrasive) try a bit on a spot, do not dilute it and use a soft cloth to apply, then lightly wet the area with a spray bottle and wipe off with a microfiber towel. It works great on plastic (like instrument panels), so it won't scratch the glass.

OK everyone...

Last night I tried toothpaste and steam cleaning. Neither even came close to working.

My steamer was only one used for clothes. Maybe not strong enough??

Thanks for all the feedback. What should I try next? Steel wool will not scratch the glass?
