I just started my car to go out and no tail lights. I have brake lights and back up lights. I have looked in the manual and do not see where the fuse is. Could someone please help?
There is a fuse box in the engine compartment and on my 06 there is one under the carpeting in the passenger side all the way up towards the front of the area. There is a black plastic cover that comes off and then give you access. I could not get my hands on my Service Manual so I am doing this off of memory. Good luck.
Going strictly from memory here... I think the tail lights fuse may be #8 in the main box in the engine compartment, passenger side, just forward of the battery. Your side marker lights are also out, as is the illuminated PRNDS panel next to your A6 shifter. Don't ask me how I know...

shows up as the parking lamps fuse (#8) under the hood. good memory!
I fixed the problem. It was not the #8 fuse. About a week ago I disabled my CAGS with the blown smart fuse. It disabled my CAGS fine but somehow it knocked out my tail lights. I put the regular fuse back in and the tail lights are back working. I quess I will be buying the $20 piece that attaches to the trans to disable the CAGS. Anybody else had this happen?
Thanks everyone.
