The passenger door "handle" on my 2005 does not recognize my fob. It isn't the fob or car battery because it works on the other door and the hatch. If anyone has had this repaired, how complex is it? I am guessing there is a bad sensor in there somewhere. Thanks for your input.
There's nothing in the door handle that recognizes the fob. It's an antenna inside the car that recognizes the fob. Something's wrong with that antenna on the passenger side of the car.
Does the light on top of the door blink when you try to open it? If it blinks, it probably is the door handle that needs cleaning or replacing, as lightfoot suggested above. If the light doesn't blink, it's the antenna as indicated in my first paragraph.

The light blinks, so it sounds like something is dirty. How do you clean it? Does it have to go to the dealer? thanx.......

The link that CO Lightfoot posted should take you to an illustrated thread that shows you how to clean it. If you're much of a DIY person at all, try that method first. Then go see the dealer if that doesn't help.
