I've searched high and low for an answer to this but to no avail. Just picked up a 05 c6 and want to change display from english to metric (I'm in Canada) but everytime I push the option button I get the message "options not available" Any help would be appreciatted.

This happens when you are using a fob programmed as either fob #3 or fob #4. The reason this happens is that somewhere along the line the original owner lost one of their fobs and programmed a new one as an additional fob. Options and memory settings are only available to fob #1 or fob #2. If any additional fobs are added to the car (it can hold 4 programmed) they will not be able to take advantage of the memory settings or configure the cars customization features or options.
You would need to wipe out the current fob programming and program your fobs back in to positions one and two to make this work again.

The only things you can do with a #3 or #4 fob is to use the buttons on the fob and start the car.
There are 2 different programming procedures for fobs. They're both listed in the owner's manual and have been posted here several times. The shorter procedure just adds new fob numbers, automatically incrementing the fob number beyond whatever the last one was that was programmed for your car.
The longer procedure is the one that talon90 is talking about. It reprograms all fobs for your car, beginning with fob #1, etc. You can program the fobs, or you can have the dealer do it, but he'll probably charge you for it.
