Chrome Console trim
I have an 06, with the plain grey center console. I was planning on having it painted gloss black. I also thought it would look even better with the chrome shifter and cup holder trim rings from the newer cars. Are the rings available by themselves, or do you have to purchase the entire console from a newer car?

I replaced the gray in my 07 with one for the 08. It included the chrome rings, shiny black (phony but attractive) carbon fiber, and leather (vinyl) surround trim.
My expert Corvette mechanic did the swap so there are no rattles and it fits perfectly.
This was a very easy and complete upgrade.

The chrome rings on an '08 are different than the '07 and earlier consoles.
APsis sells a chrome ring replacement set (with core exchange) for the early consoles, not cheap though.
You may be able to get the pieces 'chromed' locally.

I just painted one Gloss black, I didn't like the contrast of the gloss against the rest of the ebony interior. If you want I would trade you the painted one for yours, as I am going to try wrapping instead. I painted it in base /clear, wet sanded and then polished out. All I ask is you to pay shipping your in, mine out.
