08+ center console ??
Can the faux carbon fiber shell be removed/separated from the rest of the piece? I'm not a big fan of the look and I'm thinking about wrapping it in something else.

Isn't there a body-colored piece from GM that you can install over the fake CF?
I'm not into appearance mods, but the fake CF in my 2009 looks cheesy, shows every fingerprint, and scratches easily.
I liked the silver-painted part on our 2006 a lot more.

I know I'd be in the minority but I agree. I used to think that if I ended up with a pre-08, one of my mods would be to go with the newer CF center console. But I must say the two tone grey console has kind of grown on me... I'll probably just keep it. I think it especially goes well with the ebony / titanium interior. It might look better with the chrome rings on the shifter and cup holder openings and they are available... but not cheap. I'm not a big fan of any glossy finish.

The silver painted center console in my 05 is now 5 years old and still looks like new. I've always liked the contrast with ebony.
