You need to read the directions carefully, it tells you how, and I after 07 or 08 it stopped working, again this is detailed in the directions.

Instructions here...

From The Instructions:
NOTE: this unit will work with either of the supplied remotes or the OEM visor mounted Homelink system. It will not work with other visor-mounted units. GM has been testing other visor units, so you may not have a Homelink system. If you have a visor unit with a single LED with the home symbol around it you have Homelink and this can be ırogrammed. If you have 3 LED’s, you do not have Homelink and you may not be able program this unit. It will still function fine with the provided remotes.

I have an 09 vert and I was not successful at programmong the buttons on the visor.

I have the sunset creations visor controller on my 09Z and it works great. I did have to read the instructions a couple times to get it right. You just need to make sure you have the code/button sequence to program into the remote.

The sunset Orange Creations unit programs with the 3 button visor. I have it in my car and it works great.

I'm not sure it has anything to do with how many buttons there are. I could be wrong though.

You are talking of 2 different visor setups AND 2 different companies exhaust switches.

The Exhaust Commander from Sunset Orange Creations works with the newer version of the visor (3 LED, Lear Car2U) and is sold only by http://sunsetorangecreations.com/ , a Forum Vendor.

The M2W is made by someone not on CF and is sold by some CF Vendors and others. From what I've read here it will not work on the 3 LED version of the visor.

We have been making a unit that controls your bi-mode exhaust the Lear Car2u universal visor remote for about 5 years. It works wit the Lear car2u universal visor remote, which is the version that has 3 LED lights, one above each button.

Here is the thread:

Control your 2006-2013 bi-mode NPP exhaust from your universal visor remote!

You can use one button on your universal visor remote to control your exhaust.

Take a look at the thread and let us know if you have any questions.

Give us a call at 830-44-vette.

I'm sure we can work out a deal for you to upgrade to the Exhaust Commander car2u visor compatible exhaust controller.

I installed my MTW with the small foot button on the dead pedal:

Cheap
Easy
No battery drain
No fob to lose
No fob battery to go dead
No need to take my hands off the wheel

After three years, I still prefer it that way.
But, YMMV...

I programmed my homelink to open and close the muffler flaps. Left button opens and the right button closes. Middle button still operates the garage door. Took about 2 minutes.

Don't know why people deal with M2W remotes to begin with. An old school
foot controller is the way to go.

agreed....that's what I ordered, but got the remote one shipped to me.

Oh well, I didn't want to wait so installed it. Besides, I usually run with the baffles open anyway. Only time I close it is if I'm with the Mrs. & we're on the highway.

Beside the old school M2W i've got the lock collars to keep my NPP from closing completely when the M2W is off.

Guys this is a 4 year old post ....

and Sunset Orange is out of business ....

the only controllers left are Mild to Wild Switch for those that have factory NPP mufflers and controller

and

NPP in a box for those that are adding NPP mufflers to a car that did not have them
