Ever been locked INSIDE your Vette?

Only happened once, in the dealer's showroom, because the battery was dead. Sales explained about the emergency door release at that point. I bought the car with a new battery installed, no more trouble.

As usual with these cars check the battery first. If it comes back good check it again. Most issues with weird stuff like this are fixed with a new battery.

If you picked the car up, and the FOB was sitting on the consul, I bet the battery was going dead in the car... the FOB will drain the car battery if left inside the car.

This is backed up by? Doesn't seem like that would happen, one would assume the car would power down like normal until some sort of activity like a door was opened or button pressed before looking for the FOB again after the sleep mode started.

I HAD a 05 for 2 years with the real DBS problems (happened about 10 times) It would be OK to get in the car but then it went click click and nothing, no power to open the door. I got in the habit of opening the car and starting engine before I would close the door. If I have not driven the 07 Z06 car in a few days I still do that just in case.

Or maybe another problem is killing your car battery.
Or maybe your fob battery is weak/dying. They're only good for ~3 years depending on usage.
Even with a bad fob battery, the glovebox slot should work... try that the next time you get "NO FOB DETECTED".

My C6 doesn't like me. It's happy when I open the door and leave. No way it's going to try and stop me.

...same story, my wife has been locked-in a couple of times, when I left the car for a few minutes.

No it won't. The car doesn't send a request to the fob until something tells it to - like pressing on the door pad or start button. The fob doesn't send anything to the car unless it gets a request from the car or you press a button on the fob.
