Key Fob question (replacement question)
Was only given one with the car. Id like to do it as soon as possible .. but too cheap to pay double at the dealers lot for it

Much rather get one via our guys for the forums, still waiting on a confirmation from a couple instead of just a listed price

The one i have is ...
GM/S 10372541
FCC id m3n65981403
Ic 267f-65981403
#1
I'd like to get at least one extra fob and one extra key.
Ive been unable to get a confirmation on which would be right.
Most places i look up the FOB have 6 listed ... 3-#1 and 3-#2.
That part is easy to narrow down. I need the #2 .. but which one
I can make a guess but id rather be sure ...
The second question if i decided to buy a 3rd its just another either #1 or 2 and programmed into the #3 slot... right? I know all the GM i dealt with previously and the wifes nissan were similar and it didn't really matter more than the stamped # on the back.
These are the ones i've found ... noting which i THINIK it is.. but again its a guess at the moment.
Suggestions?

If you're just going to add a fob, keep in mine that the car will program it as the next fob number that's unused. What this means is that if you have only one fob, a 2nd fob may have been already programmed, maybe not. You won't know until you start the procedure.
That'd be reason enough for me to reprogram the system for my fob's only.
But I've never programmed a fob... maybe the long procedure is discouragingly difficult. And of course I'd worry that if I screwed-up the long procedure, I might end up with no functioning fob's.

Anyway, definitely get a 2nd fob. And get some spare keys for the hatch/trunk. About $6/each at most places that specialize in car keys. Use key blank B-106 (same size for a Saturn). I keep one in my wallet.
It is a common misunderstanding that the number means something. You could take four fobs, all stamped number "1", and program them to your car as #1, #2,#3, and #4. The first one in the slot could be left stamped as #1. Then you can use a marking pen and label the others as 2,3,4. They are all the same inside. The Cadillac fob that looks like the C6 fob will also work ...it just needs to be programmed to the car like any C6 fob. The Cadillac ones are even cheaper on Ebay. I use a Cadillac fob for my car so the original ones don't get scratched up and ruined.

The later ones got caught by bellsouth and their "famous" spam catching....
