OEM Solid Top
I am going to buy an OEM Solid Top and have it painted Blade Silver to match my Car. Is anyone familiar with the parts that I will have to buy for assembly by the body guy. E.G., would the headliner be a separate part? Thanks.
Here is a breakdown of the parts required to build a painted panel from scratch using parts from a GM Dealership. The pricing reflected was quoted at discount from Partstaxi.com so your mileage may vary if you go with a local dealer or service department. The part number columns are the original part number that was released in 2005 and if there is a number in the current part number column it means that this part number replaced the original number on current production. The cost above also does not include painting as the panels will arrive unpainted and will still need to be painted by you body shop. This is why I always encourage folks that even think that they may want a painted panel on their car someday to purchase at the time they order the car (obviously only applies to new orders where you have a choice.)
As you will see below, you are going to be far better off cost wise to find an existing panel and have it painted.
I would be keep looking on the fourm somone will have what you are looking for I have bought two tops from here one for my 03 C5 and one for my GS c6 and even if you have to repaint it it will be less money and have all the hardware,,,,,
Holy hell, my car came with the clear top, I can't believe the solid top costs that much.
Explain this to me:
transparent roof option is $750
Roof package (both roofs) is $1400
So.... I got ripped off with the transparent roof option (even though I didn't spec the car and bought it off a lot) The trasnparent roof is 750 more then the base roof and yet both roofs are only ~$600 more.

You didn't get ripped off. Figure it this way: If you want the transparent roof, it'll cost $1400. For that money, you get to keep the painted roof so in essence you're paying $1400 to add the transparent roof as a free-standing option. If you want the transparent roof instead of the painted one, they're giving you a $650 credit toward the $1400 transparent roof as a result of your not taking the painted one.
Having said all of that, the best recommendation I can make is this: Anyone who even remotely suspects that they'll want the painted roof should order their car with it. It costs nothing extra. As Paul (talon90) pointed out, getting a new one after the fact (by ordering all of the needed parts, having the panel painted, and getting everything assembled) is going to top $2000. On the other hand, the best way to get a new transparent roof is not to order the $1400 dual roof option, but to order one from Gene Culley for $1095 shipped.

Exactly, because otherwise it's going to cost a ton of money to get one.
