Has anyone installed a backup camera in their C6. Is there a kit or how did you go about it? I really do not want to mess up my pipes or rearend if there is something available. I have the Nav and the PAL.

I had the Kenwood CMOS-300 installed. If you want a picture of the camera installed e-mail me.

Lockpick has a camera setup with factory nav. Some good aftermarket radios have a plug in for a camera

I feel the Vette is so low that the problem is not seeing directly behind the car IMO. My real problem is seeing to the sides particulary when some dude parks next to me in his Suburban etc.

While I know thats not what the op has asked, but if someone knows of a camera that can tell me whats behind that damn Suburban, pickup, or other SUV, I'd like to find out about it. I think a lot of us would love that technology, particularly those of us driving verts. If the camera lens is somewhat fish eyed that may be the solution.

Sorry, didn't mean to highjack the thread.

I opted to install the Alpine nav unit with the back up cam. If it saves you once then it pays off. Normally, I don't like parking that close to other cars and just look for more space.

I've seen some screen shots of a camera Kenwood offers with their Head Units that has a very wide-angle view, among others.

That may get you what you're looking for.

Try a Search in the Audio Electronics Forum for more info.

Default Cam

It's above the rear plate and shows up in the 7" nav screen.

There's an over ride so that it can be viewed while driving, but normally clicks on when in reverse.

There are also some aftermarket cams that show up in your rear view mirror. My wife has this OEM in her car.
