Does anyone know how to get rid of the rattling noise from the driver side door? It rattles during idling, acceleration, and when the radio is on. Thanks!
If you remove your door panel, check the wire harness near the middle of the door and make sure it is snapped securely in the retaining hole. If not, it will rattle. I found out the hard way after installing front speakers. While the panel is off, check for any lose wires etc.
If I remember correctly, the door panel is secured by plastic pegs (inserts). If you pull the door panel off, I would replace the plastic inserts so you have a tight fit.
Can anyone else confirm this since it is based off of my memory....

Correct, there are plastic retainers that hold the door panel. Be careful, they can break with to much force. Also, there are a couple of screws by the door handle. Do a search on speaker install and there should be instructions and illustrations for removing the panel.
Our 2009 had a rattle in both doors from the first day. Very annoying because our 2006 had been rattle-free.
In our case, it turned out to be the door strikes on the door itself. The GM Bulletin about removable top noises has a section about this, because the door noise is sometimes mistaken for a rattle in the top.
The tech showed me the problem by opening a door and pushing/pulling firmly up & down on the strike itself. It had some visible movement and made a clicking sound.
The only solution is new strikes, unless you want to fix them yourself. Either way, you need to take off the inner door panel so that's a good time to look for other loose items.

Actually....you'd be better off not pulling the panel as a first move. Try using your palm and while grabbing the door, push the panel in forcefully as this may "seat" a loose door panel retainer. Go around the door in various spots. You might be able to spot these retainers if you have a gap between the panel and door.

Good luck!

It was a metallic rattle that only happend when driving over broken pavement, like a section of patched potholes.
Metallic rattle is a good sign that something's lose. Just take the panel off and look for yourself. I've not removed mine from the C-6 yet, but my C-5, I've had off lots of times...easy on the C-5.

Before you do anything, just check the striker on your door. You can do this by just trying to move it with your fingers. A loose door striker is the single most common cause of door rattling. It's a two piece assembly and is very prone to rattling if it loosens. It can be replaced or spot welded in place. If your car is still under warranty, definitely let the dealer take care of it as a warranty item.
Are you sure that what you hear is not the passenger's seat belt buckle banging around?
Yes, definitely not the passenger belt buckle. I tested out by banging the driver side door slightly and I would hear a metallic rattling noise coming from inside.
