What is the warranty on the battery that came with my vehicle? It says that it has a six-year warranty.
The battery that comes with a GM vehicle or is replaced under warranty is covered by the limited warranty of three years or 36,000 miles (48 months/4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first, for Cadillac, Buick and HUMMER) and should be taken back to the GM dealership. The six-year warranty is for the consumer who purchased the battery; the battery should be returned to the place of purchase or any ACDelco battery retailer with the receipt.
is the Stock Vette Battery covered under the Factory Warranty?
Mine is toast with less than 30 days left on my warranty?
Others have said that although the factory battery would normally have a 7 yr pro-rated warranty if purchased aftermarket, it gets the 3/36 warranty of the new car.
No personal experience, I'm hoping it's longer.
EDIT-
LMB-C6 has the story above.

I wouldn't bother with the dealer unless you suspect there's a problem that killed your battery (e.g., excessive drain or bad alternator). Then, absolutely get the dealer involved before your warranty expires.
More likely, they will test your C6 charging system and find it healthy. Doesn't matter if they test the battery... good or not, I'd expect the small discount they might offer under warranty wouldn't come anywhere close to compensating for cost & aggravation of a dealer-installed replacement battery.
Also, I'm pretty sure they won't just hand you a new battery unless they check the car first. And how do you get it to the dealer if it won't jump-start? Tow it?
I think they prorate it after 1 year also so you may not get much back anyway. I just replaced the battery on my Impala SS and it was 3 1/2 years old. 3-4 years seems about right for an OEM GM battery. Darn things are getting expensive also.

The dealer is required to test the battery with the EL-50313 Midtronics GR8 battery tester / charger. The GR8 will let the dealer know if the battey is good and can be recharged or if the battery has failed. It the battery has failed, and if you are still within the 3yr/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, the battery will be replaced at no cost to you. However, the replacement battery will only be covered for the remainder of the 3yr/36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. There is no pro-rate on a battery replaced under the bumper to bumper warranty.
That's fine with me. I went to purchase a battery last week but it would have to be ordered. That's when I checked here. You guys saved me ~$100 during the holidays. Thanks
