Default Removing front emblem

I did a search but only came up with threads about removing the rear emblem.

Has anyone here removed the front emblem off their C6? Is it glued on or is like the rear emblem with the two holes? What is the best way to remove it? Pictures would be great! Thanks.

The front emblem is stuck on with two sided tape. You can cut it with fishing string to remove but there are two pin holes in the bumper.

The front emblem does has 2 sided tape behind it sticking it to the car.. Although I can't remember if there were 1 or 2 pegs....I believe there were 2,1 under each side of the flag.. We used fishing line, heated the emblem alittle & "wiggling" the line though the tape.. It is alittle bit of a pain.. Just be sure to not pull up on the flag until it is pretty much totally released from the car.. Or you could bend the flag. I have never removed the 1 on the rear so I can't compare it to that.. but fishing line & alittle heat will remove the 1 on the front.. Good Luck!

Besides the fact that you will be de-badging your vette, I suggest you don't do it for this reason: IT LOOKS LIKE **** WITHOUT THE FLAG.

Seriously. I have ALWAYS taken the badges off my vehicles - hate them. For some reason, I suppose by design, the C6 just looks horrible without the badge.

I do not recommend your intended effort. Nonetheless, good luck.

I removed both (F + R) from my 2005 and the process is exactly as described by Tonya above. (They both have 2 locator pins.) My reason for removing them: I replaced them with the newer-style, chrome-edged flags. It was a subtle but noticeable improvement.

I removed mine for purpose of installing a clear bra. Then I put it back on over the top of the bra. That way there were no "extra" lines.

I just slowly pulled mine off my old bumper without much of a problem. No heat gun..not string. I've got it on the wall in the garage. Probably would have been easier with a heat gun but it was in the summer and I was to lazy to get it out.

In my case the tape was very tough - broke several pieces of line cutting thru it - started from the outside tip and worked towards the center and when I got the line over to where the pins are I had to thread the line under the badge on the other side of the pin to keep going. Overall a pain in the you-know-what process in my case.

I actually like the Vette's flag emblem. The reason I'm removing it is (I know this is a stupid and silly reason LOL) because IMO the front end of the C6 resembles a cartoon face. It reminds me of the red car in that Disney movie 'Cars'. I hope that removing the emblem (which is like the 'nose' LOL) will help get rid of that cartoonish look.

Just curious. Why would you buy a car with cartoonish looks? Anyway, just a little FYI....the car in that movie didn't have any emblem on the front so theoretically you would look more cartoonish.

Here's what mine looks like without the badge. I know the Z06 scoop makes it look different than a regular C6 bumper would look but you might get an idea of what it will look like.

I wanted a cleaner look that was just a little different.

Don't get me wrong, I love the overall look of the C6. The cartoon face is a very minor gripe. Let's be real, how many aesthetically perfect cars are there? I don't hate the front end of the car, I just want to "improve" it.

Great looking ride! I like the clean look of the front without the emblem. Did you fill up the holes?

When I swapped out my stock bumper for this SIC Motorsports Z06 style bumper I decided to fill in the dimples where the holes would have been drilled. I figured if I got tired of this look, I can always add the emblem later. But right now I'm happy with the look.

I got the idea from another forum member that did the same thing.

I have Lightning McQueen on my dashmat. We probably don't have the same sense of humor.
