Z06 Auto Trans Poll
THIS IS NOT AN AUTO vs. MANUAL DEBATE!
I believe that if GM produced a Z06 with an automatic transmission, the Z06 would sell like hot cakes.
How many here would have or would purchase a Z06 if it came in an automatic transmission?
(even if the top was NOT removable)

Auto's are not true to race form
Not tryin' to cause a sh**storm, but I'm just more traditional minded about the manual transmissions in a sports car. The auto's are definitely not to be trivialized for speed or reliability, but it just makes it more of a "gentleman's/gentlewoman's" image IMO.

I would not buy one because I think an auto takes a lot of the fun out of driving, especially with a 500hp car. I don't think they would sell like "hotcakes" but I do believe an auto Z06 would make up a good percentage of the Z06 sales. It seems like it would be easy enough to offer it.

Some guys on here have had autos puit in their z and it has to be a bad azz ride. I can understand the reasons for doing this it would be a killer 1/4 mile car and an easier heavy traffic car. But for me I like the manual in my z
Some people here think GM already did and they call it a GS ( just a joke people )

No, I like shifting, working the clutch and banging those gears.

I voted no, i also enjoy rowing the gears. I do have auto trans in a few of the trans ams but all the vettes are manual. With that said, i have never driven a vette with an auto. I live in the mountains and have 50 miles of road twisties to get home so i enjoy the shifting. Makes me feel young (er) in my mind i guess. It takes me back to my youth.

I would not purchase an automatic Z06. This is a very pointless thread, since it's been discusssed over and over on the purpose of the Z06 not having an auto trans. As far as sales go...don't you think GM took this into consideration? That's why there is the GS.

Also GM dos't have a auto trans that can handle long term track duty.

Automatic You Bet!
I voted YES and I would have already bought one. I have test driven several Z's trying to convence myself that I would be happy. Current thoughts are to buy one and do the conversion.

Bad knees here and would have bought one if available at the time. As is, I did Z06 sized wheels, tires and Z brakes and added a S/C which puts my car about 60 more hp than a Z06. The car is set up the way I want it now but would have got an auto one if given the choice.

Will your next poll ask if you'd buy a Vette if it came with a V6?
