Default Finally ordered my Magnaflow mufflers & tips...

Well I finally came to a conclusion on what tips to order to go with my magnaflow 11236 mufflers... There really wasnt a good deal of information on what tips would & wouldnt work OR what dimension tips to use if replacing the stockers. What I gathered from reading various posts, is a tip around 8" overall. Well see if that works when installed, but worse case scenario a shorter tip and small piece of stainless pipe between, OR the inlet of the tip can be cut down an inch or so....
Now all I have to do is get them installed.

Parts I ordered:
  • Magnaflow 11236 (Same as 14336 everyone uses but natural stainless steel, not polished)
  • Cherry Bomb 577555 - 2.5" In / 3.5" Outlet Stainless Steel Exhaust Tips
  • Cherry Bomb 577577 - 2.5" In / 4" Outlet Stainless Steel Exhaust Tips
pics below...

Went with the Cherry Bomb tips b/c they were only reasonable priced double wall stainless steel tips with 2.5" inlet. Got both sets b/c I want to see what will probably look better, the 3.5" outlet or the 4" outlet.. whatdya guys think?? and why?

I have been looking at the Cherry Bomb 577577 as well. After your install, will you post some pics?

Will do... Drone? Dont care about no stinking drone.. last vette was a 74 w/ 400+HP and side pipes with spiral inserts... cant get no more drone, hehe. If there is any, ill deal with it till I probably go with some LT headers...

Of course! I just hope the quality of the CB tips are good and last...
Ill even take some pics before theyre installed so you can what they actually look like!

I wonder which, if any exhaust filler plates will still work when I go to the simple dual tips??

Here are the actual tips I received a lil while ago...

They look fairly decent... I was under the impression there was no Cherry Bomb logo on the top from the summit racings pictures, but oh well...

On the 3.5" outlet, the inlet is 2.5" at the inlet and all the way through the tip as the inner wall...
Where as the 4" outlet tip, the inlet is only 2.5" literally right at the inlet then seems to flare out to maybe 3" through the tips as the inner wall... Not a big deal as it looks decent, but it may be a lil difficult to install, and line up the tips straight & keep them this way, if its so easy for it to wiggle around on the tip since its just the same size as the 2.5" pipe for that super small area!

Still not sure which tip im going to use, might just tell him to do the 4" if he can make them work & look perfect, if not ill do the 3.5" Or def the 3.5" if I think the 4" will be too big after I put them up there & take a look.

Thanks for the pics. After viewing your pictures, I am going to order a set of the 4" tips.

Look forward to seeing the install pictures on your Vette.
