Has anyone heard of a special paint or a process that coats the inside of your wheels and makes it smooth so that you can clean them easy when you wash the car? The inside of the wheels always get dirty and you can see it from the outside in between the spokes. It's hard to keep them clean because the finish is rough. Another Vette person was telling me he had it done to his car @ $130.00 a wheel and it worked great. he wasn't sure if it was some sort of epoxy paint they put on or some kind of process. I was just wondering if anyone else had it done or if it's something that I could do myself.
Have you simply tried to remove the wheels, clean the barrels real well and then give them a good coat of wax. I did that with mine and with the use of a good wheel brush, I don't notice it to be a problem. Costs almost nothing.

I put the car up on the lift every so often and clean the barrels from under the car where it's much easier to get at but have never waxed the barrels. I'll have to try it.
The barrels on the 2008-10 base split spokes are painted light gray and then clearcoated, pretty smooth and should be easy to clean. But I just let mine develop a uniform coat of dark gray road grunge in there.
i cleaned the barrels of my 08s wheels the same as the outer surfaces. just used an off the shelf wheel cleaner and a microfiber cleaning duster, and plenty of soap and water. the duster worked great since it would get in between the caliper and wheel barrel. -
after 3 years, the barrels still looked like new -
it only took a few extra minutes each time to clean the barrels. about once per year, i'd pull the wheels, give them a good detailed cleaning and a couple coats of wax.

They look clean! But how many miles do you put on your car per year :-)
Works great on dry wheels.....Swiffer Dusters Extender extends up to three feet with an extendable handle that pivots and locks into four different positions.......
Also great for underhood............
