Default Important Information for Vette Newbies

Our local club had a beginners rally last weekend and we decided to go. It was the first chance to participate in an event with the other members and sounded like fun. The weather has been bad, snow, etc but Sunday was clear and sunny, but cold. So I wiped off the Vette and we headed out to the gathering point. I was sure we were at the right place ‘cause there were lots of cars and many people gathered around…but NO CORVETTES (well, except for one).
So here is the important information: Just because it’s a Corvette Club, don’t assume people will drive their Corvettes! Everyone was proud of us for bringing the car out of storage just for their event but wondered why we didn’t drive our other car. “Great to see you but that pretty black car will get pretty dirty.” Well it sure did get dirty, but we had a great time, the route was neat, the roads were mostly clear and fun and we couldn’t have enjoyed ourselves more. But the next time we might just take the Accord.

Late December? Ralley? Ohio? Hmmm, I don't see anything wrong with that picture! Congrats on driving your car! Tell them it isn't a shrine, it's a car!

Glad to see you drove it.

Too many people on this forum afraid to drive them in the winter. They lock them away in a hermetically sealed coffin til spring.

I bought my car to drive and enjoy it. And that's what I do.

Default Today

I am in mid Missouri and I am driving my 07 coupe today. It's overcast and in the low 40s with a 20% chance of rain. Like other posters have said, I bought the car to drive and am going to put it on the road any day it's clear enough to be safe. Besides, I don't have a battery tender...
