Default Trim along window shrunk?

has anyone noticed that the trim peice that contacts the windows on the outside doesnt seem to be long enough to cover the entire door?
mine seem to have about half inch gap from going all the way to the end of the door. the halo covers most of it when the door is closed but it really doesnt look right to me. there is a large gap i can see right down into the door.
has anyone noticed if this is true of a brand new car?
i got mine a couple years old from texas where its hot. i suspect the heat may have caused it. i would like to replace but i want to make sure the new peice will be an improvement and its not just a design flaw.
thanks

Feed it some Viagra. It'll grow.

Seriously, I'm not sure which piece you are talking about, but I don't notice anything like that on my car.

Same here with a 08...it's the plastic covering the window weather stripping at the top of the door panel.

Warranty it.
It is rubber and heat will shrink it.

Also the "finish" will wear in time...can use Back to Black treatment.
I always use Die Electric and the finish still clouded so to say.

C5 had the same shrink issue...I could call this seal a 5 year wear item...yet, definitely warranty item.

i think my GMPP warranty is up, isnt that the 3 year 36k warranty for everything outside the drivetrain?
my car has 50k on it and it's a 2008
i cannot imagine that part costs that much.

I think I have the same issue. Mine's also an 08, and it took lots of coats of back to black to get it to look good again
