Oh thats a good idea, putting tape on it and see how it contacts. I know it isnt the seatbelt, they arent down there, if it was it would be IN the door frame then the door wouldnt close.

There are times when a seat belt will not retract properly which would cause the buckle to dangle and possibly lay itself in the door tray at the bottom by the rocker panel (caught in the seat hinge for instance). It would only take once or twice - and it wouldn't have to close all the way, only make impact to cause the marks.
Again, it would only take once or twice for the belt to do the damage. It looks more like a couple of isolated incidents versus repeat/chronic damage.
Just sayin.
Kind of like a little CSI (Corvette Scientific Investigation) episode, isn't it ?
LOL
Just dig into the pedal on the right and you will fuggitaboutit!!!
Merry Christmas!!!
I would vote for seat-belt ends dragging..might want to get some clips top hold them in place...purchased a set here not to long ago..go to search and put in seat belt clips..

If your door is sagging or the seat belt was getting pinched between the trim panel and the sill, you would see damage to the paint on the sill. Take the car to a trim shop and ask them if the damage can be repaired or at least comoflaged. Fortunately it is somewhat out of sight. Good luck.
