Default Hid question? Please help!!!

I want to convert the fogs to HIDs. Are the headlights projectors? Will I have to pick a different color temperature to get the fogs and lows to match? I want a tint of blue, what color temperature do you guys recommend? What brand? All help is appreciated.

Happy Holidays

I would HIGHLY recommend dealing with JW (JW Motoring) who is a sponsoring vendor. His products and service are next to none.

6000K for fogs will match the headlights pretty close. If you want a slight blue tint go with 8000K.

Stock Low Beam HID color temp is 4300K.

6000k will be bluer and a little less bright. 8000k even bluer/less light.

If you want to use your Fog Lights as actual foglights, then you should consider 3000K HID's which will be yellow, producing less glare and easier for other drivers to spot in the fog.

I was under the impression that our driving lights are not fog lights and to be true fog lights they need to be yellow (light) and a different type of lens (not a flat one but some sort of layed type to spread out the light) - am I wrong?

I do the 4300k fogs to match the headlights. I have done them in deveral cars and they look great. 4300k is also the brightest of all the temps as it is the most white. The further you go in kelvin temps they get more blue and loose actual brightness. 4300k is a perfect match to stock c6 headlights. Get them from Jhonathan @JWMotoring here on the forum.

Not so much. Traditionally they have been white or selective yellow, but fundamentally fog lights are meant to be used instead of low beams when driving at low speeds in low visibility conditions. No matter the shape, the pattern is to have a sharp cut-off and they are to be mounted low.

I've had the 4300K HID lights from JWmotoring in my fog light enclosures for about a year now and have been very happy with them. They are a pretty close, but not exact, color match for the stock HID low beams.

If you are looking to use them as driving lights, the factory setting of the fog lights is aimed too low to be very effective. There is an adjustment screw to raise aim point under the bottom of the housing. I decided I liked the way the lights lit up the street in front of my car (and I am rarely in a place to actually use driving lights), so I left my adjustment alone.
