I picked up an 06 coupe and when I press the traction control button nothing happens. Nothing shows up in the DIC or dash. I'm not throwing any codes. Could it just be a bad switch?
Tried that, but it just doesn't do anything. If a fuse was bad it would throw a code correct? I also have a c5 so I'm familar with the funtionality and never had any issue with that one. It's almost like it is disconnected.
The switch is normally open so the diagnostics wouldn't be able to tell if something was wrong with the switch or its wiring. The switch could be bad, a wire may be disconnected from the switch if somebody was doing some work in that area of the center console, the ground could be bad.
It doesn't beep, just a dead switch. I've had my console apart a 100 times in my c5, so I figure it must be just as easy on the c6. I'll open it up this weekend. I just wanted to run it by everyone before I do it.
I'm not sure you need to remove your console just to get to the switch. What I have says "Squeeze the tabs securing the traction control switch to the trim plate and remove the switch". It does not show any requirement to remove the console. You might try that first.
