In all due respect, why did you buy a convertible if you don't like the wind?
Seriously, I don't get it. I love the wind. I drive with the top down 99% of the time, even at night. And I drive very fast. The wind hitting the front & back of my head gives me that *free* feeling. I love it.
But I saw a couple today in a Mercedes vert w/ the top down - but - all windows up, a wind screen, they both had hats and gloves on, jackets, and I'm sure I saw a turtle neck creeping out from under his coat
If you lived in Buffalo New York like I do instead Of California you would understand. I too love the top down experience and to be honest the windscreen is more to keep the wife happy.

If you filled out your profile so we could see where you're located, the responses would be more specific. Otherwise, I just posted on my own view without knowing your circumstances. Knowing that now, I think it's great that you at least driving a convertible because you want to *despite* the weather where you live
I'm thinking of buying a wind screen for my c6 convertible. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

To try and offer actually useful info - the windscreen does calm things down a bit but maybe not as much as you might want, expect, and/or hope. My wife has one for her convertible and she does use it when she's going to go a decent distance at freeway speeds. No matter how much you might like the wind, 100+ miles of 70 mph buffeting is wearing and it's nice to be able to communicate with your passenger at something less than total scream levels.
The big negative (IMO) is that the top can't be put up with the thing in place. The screen has to be manually installed when you want to use and and then removed before you can put the top back up again.
It works but only experience with the thing ($$) will really let you know if it's worth it.
Sorry about the profile, been meaning to do that. I really appreciate your feedback. I was just saying to a good friend yesterday that I may be crazy to buy a convertible in Buffalo with only a few good months to ride but one sunny ride makes it all worth while.

Yes on long drives my top goes up. The buffeting was fine on long drives when I was younger, but now it is not. I would get a w/s if it did no have to be removed when using the top. Hope someone's yank ingenuity can work this out.
I know the general rundown (why by a vert, if...), but the fact is, my wife likes the top down and the wind cut down. The screen accomplishes this.
Had one on my C5 and now have one on my C6, both cut the back turbulence tremendously. The wife has long blond hair and with the screen, it no longer whips around slapping her in the face.
I agree with Craig. For short outtings top down is the best. But for anything over an hour, we put up the windscreen and sometimes the windows, no matter the temperature. Keeps the wind from beating the heck outta us. I bought it for the wife, so she would continue to ride with me on day trips. Probably used 6 to 8 times a year. Since we seldom do over night trips in the Vette, trunk is usally empty and easy to store in case top needs to go up.
I suggest you do a search and you will find this question asked about 500 times. I do have the GM windscreen because my wife likes it. it cuts out about 50% of the turbulence.
Until they make one that doesn't interfere with the movement of the top, it seems to me that it just makes no sense. I am with Keyplyr also, top down, as often as possible, love the wind and wouldn't want to minimize it. My hat stays on fine with the top down at 100 mph+.
You get different perspectives from different people.
Some say, jeez, you have to remove it to put up the top! That's true, but it takes me 20 seconds to get out of the car, remove the windscreen and stow it in the trunk. Unless you're physically challenged, just not a big deal.
Others say I love the feel of the wind in my hair! I agree with that if it was just me, but my wife thinks it really helps block some of the turbulence and helps with her hair getting blown all over the place. She loves the windscreen, so that makes it a good accessory.
I'm sold. I'm buying a windscreen. My wife also has long hair and the wind always trashed her hair. She will be very happy with this purchase.
Last question. Which windscreen did you guys buy? The GM one with the corvette logo looks nice.

if anything, this is the biggest stumbling block, at least for me. the fact that it has to be removed if you decide to put up the top is not in my cards because every time I stop, I put up the top.
otherwise, there does seem to be mixed feelings on its value, but many who have it claim it's worth having.
