Default Engine Drag Control

What exactly does it do. It came on a few times when it was wet out and I assume it kept the rear wheels from slipping because I had down shifted to slow down. So I assume it matched engine to road speed. Is that it?

Not exactly/really. It's a little confusing. All I can offer is these 2 links:

You got it.

Basically, it applies a little power to the rear wheels if they are starting to slide because of too much engine-braking.

You might think of it as the flip-side of traction control.

Actually, it *is* traction control.

I tend to think of it as sideways version of antilock braking.

My goodness. I don't think my C5 had that. Things just keep getting better and better. I also want to thank you forum folks. I had no idea that there was a button above the rear license to open the rear hatch. Much better than reaching inside the door. You're all greeeeat.
