C6 Headlight lense replacement help?
I need to replace my front headlight lenses. Is that something for the dealer? Where can the lenses be purchased? Degree of difficulty? What all must you remove to replace? Or do you purchase the entire light assembly?

Not sure about the dealer doing the work but it can be a DIY project. Contact RL Sebring on this forum for slightly used lenses. Couple hundred bucks or so for a pair if I remember right. Only downside is the front nose has to come apart to take out the entire headlight bucket. I took my lenses out with heat gun and elbow grease. Entire project took me around 8 hours. Well worth it though. Have you checked out prices on replacement headlights as a unit? Yikes!

Yes the complete nose has to be removed . It is alot quicker if you have a rack to work on. The dealership will most likely charge you 3 to 3.5 hours .Thats what we charge. Black vettes are usually 3.5 because of the care that you have to take to prevent any scratches. If you decide to do it yourself just take you time and also ask the dealership to print out the directions for you it shouldnt be a problem if you are a customer of theirs. If they wont feel free to email me and I will get them for you.

If you don't feel its a job that you can DIY check out this thread. Its a vendor on here that you can send them in and have them replace the lens.

I bought a lens from East Coast Performance after one of mine cracked and replaced it myself at home. It was quite a bit of work, but I managed to get it done. You have to remove the entire headlamp assy from the car and then bake it in the oven to soften the glue so you can pry the old lens off. Then you have to clean out all the old glue from the glue channel and glue the new lens on and let it sit a day to cure.
On a 1-10 degree of difficulty scale, I would probably give it a 6 or a 7. Getting the headlight in and out of the car also takes some work cause you have to take the front fender and fasica loose.
You can also take it out of the car and mail it into East Coast Performance and they will swap out the lens for you if you don't want to risk doing it yourself.
A new headlight assy will run you around $950 or so. I think I spent about $175 for just the lens. The savings made it more than worth my time and trouble.

Definitely can be a DIY. Lot of work. Had a couple of friends help me and it took two days to do it.
The vendors that sell the replacement lenses include instructions, which is part of the price you pay when you buy them, so that's why people don't just post up the PDF. They paid for those.
Made a huge difference in look though, so it was well worth it.

If you decide to replace with a complete light be prepared to spend $995 for each one. I just had one replaced from an accident so I was very surprised at the cost. Also, that doesn't include installation.
