I know DEI, who makes all the popular alarms like Viper and Cilfford etc, makes an aftermarket one that you can also get an alarm tied into it as well. It will start and also notify you of any triggers to the alarm on the phone. Also can start it anywhere you get cell signal at.
I have not heard about the one that does it with the factory remote start, which Vettes do not have anywho.
It's from Onstar and available on most 2011 models. The problem is that it doesn't work on the corvette but it does on the cobalt. It checks your fuel level, tire pressure, oil life, unlocks your doors and blows your horn from your smart phone. It's called Mylink. It's making many car owners furious right now as it still doesn't work on all the models advertised and only on 2011.

Furious? Why? My Escalade is not an 11, but I understand about how technology advances, Onstar etc has advanced to the stage it can now do this, why would this make someone furious...because they have no clues??? Are they furious TV's, washing machines, dish washers, computers, alarm systems (could mention maybe any electronic or technical thing in the world...) gets more advanced with each new model, with new and innovative features. People are stupid MOST times.

Onstar has advanced to module 9 now in it's 2011 models. So some people feel that the engineers could have at least started working with a platform that supported module 8 or allowed for an upgrade for 2010 owners. The funny part is that you have people with very old gm vehicles that never did the digital upgrade and that still have a non-working analog systems in their vehicle complaining. Some complaints I feel are valid though. Like the people who actually own 2011 cars and the system was specifically advertised to work on them but don't. Many salemen used this as one of their selling points. I think Onstar jumped the gun a little on promoting this system. They should have tested on all applicable vehicles to ensure it worked first. Some people just need a reason(ANY REASON) to complain. They are working on it though. You know society has created very impatient people. (Anytime people think the microwave is too slow....). The other issue was with the corvette. They could offer a system like this to most of its fleet but not to one of its flagship vehicles. They say it will never be compatible but you never know.

There is no such thing as a 2011 Chevy Cobalt....perhaps you meant to say 2011 Chevy Cruze?
Another FYI...
Maybe thinking you can upgrade your current Onstar in your vette to this new version? Think again. I recently had my OnStar replaced in my 2005 as it was the old analog system. The newest version they can replace it with is not capable of all this new stuff.

That's exactly what I was thinking but these fingers typed what they wanted. Yea, they've already said no vette compatibility. It's not as simple as a hardware switch.

Just gives me yet another reason to yank all that OnStar shat out of my '05 Vette. Anyone have a detailed description how to do that?
