drivers seatbelt sensor problem
have 2005. last year'ish, drivers seat got wet. periodically, the seatbelt chime and light goes on. after a while, it turns off. I have tried unbuckling and rebuckling, but that dosent fix problem. Hitting bump in road can sometimes set it off, so I'm thinking it's the sensor in/under the seat. I could care less about the occasional ding-ding, but was wondering if the airbag system is affected by the computer thinking seatbelt not being worn.

I would check the connectors under the seat...I don't think that there is a sensor in the drivers seat as there is in the passenger seat. The car always assumes that someone is in the driver's seat, where it needs to check the passenger. Four bolts to pull the seat, then unplug and re-plug the harnesses under there...you might even do a spray to clean the contacts.
