Default Removeable top storage bag?

Anybody know where I can purchase a inexpensive storage bag for my removeable top? Hate to buy anything from the dealer if there is a CF vender that sells them. Thanks for any help! Rich

I believe this vendor is a CF vendor.

Gene Culley at GMPartshouse has them as does Kevin Cassimore at Partstaxi, both froum vendors that deliver great customer service at good prices.

I would warn you about the GM storage bag. I used it for my 2006 painted top and it actually did some damage to the paint finish, where some vinyl patches on the interior of the bag touched the paint. This was several years ago, so it's possible they have fixed the problem but I wouldn't bet on it. Or you can avoid the problem by wrapping the top in a sheet before placing it in the bag.

Other vendors may well provide bags that have no such problem.

I now hang the extra top on the wall using a fixture designed for just that purpose. It's offered by several vendors...this one is at West Coast Corvette...

And here's one at Ecklers...

I got mine on sale at Ecklers - - here's a link to their listing although it's a bit more expensive today: http://www.ecklers.com/corvette-roof...2005-2010.html

You might also post a Wanted to Buy (WTB) in the C6 Parts for Sale/Wanted forum- http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-p...le-wanted-115/

Good luck-

Also, be sure to wash the car before putting the top in any bag, grit on the top can cause scratches and also get transferred to the inside of the bag where it will cause more scratches in the future.

Is there a reason you don't keep it in the rear compartment?

I ordered my car with the painted roof. I just bought the transparent roof from Gene Culley this summer. The painted roof went right back into the box the transparent roof came in. Plenty of room and protection.

I do remember reading posts about the GM bag being a tight squeeze.

It is stored in the rear compartment, for now, just wanted to free up some trunk space, looking at getting the wall mount bracket, looks like it will cause the least amount of damage.

I am not that happy with my GM storage bag. Fits too tight and is not made with soft enough liner. Just buy a cheap microfiber (fleece) throw or small blanket, fold leaving a flap and sew each side.

I got it. If you do a search some have made their own. If I remember correctly, some of them were pretty good ideas and cheap. Good Luck
