it also rings the door open tone which is so enjoyable after 15 seconds.

It allows you to operate accessories such as the radio, power windows, and nav system without having to start the engine.

Accessory mode is no different than any other car.

If you turn on Accessory, then turn it off; the Retained Accessory Power feature will let your radio run, windows work, etc for 10 minutes. I wonder if you lose anything in RAP compared to Accessory? Or to put it another way, I wonder if RAP is less drain on the battery than Accessory?

You can also put it in neutral in acc mode if you have an A6.

Accessory mode also allows access to the TCM data via the OBDII.

You've had your Corvette since 2005 and you don't know what the accessory mode is used for!

Sorry, I couldn't help myself. Honestly, I was just saying what many that have read this post have been thinking but wouldn't post.

No offense meant, but really, why haven't you familiarized yourself with your car in all that time?

Also, as others have stated, the 'Accessory Mode' is not unique to the Corvette. It's on almost ALL cars that I have ever owned.

I agree with all that you have said, but every time I do get a chance to take the vette out, it puts the biggest smile on my face

In your other car(s) that have a key ingition switch, have you ever turned the key to the left instead of to the right? If you have, then you have entered into the accessory mode.
I'm sorry but I really can't believe that this thread was actually posted...no offense.
